Food to enjoy

A little aperitif is good for you – it will relax and stimulate your digestive enzymes in preparation for food.

When eating in social situations – make sure that you eat slowly and simply chew your food – digestion begins in your mouth – remember your stomach does not have teeth!!

If digestion is a problem take a digestive enzyme supplement with food to relieve symptoms of bloating and discomfort.

Peppermints can be sucked, taken as tea or as oil to aid digestion.

 Remember seasonal food is healthy – enjoy – turkey, vegetables, dried fruit, nuts, fish are all full of essential nutrients.

 Savour all those seasonal warming spices – cinnamon, cloves and ginger – good for digestion and will lift your spirit.

  Expresso coffee and good quality chocolate can be enjoyed at the end of a meal and will be much more efficiently metabolised.

Sensible drinking

Avoid the morning after groggy head by rehydrating with a glass of mineral water before bed. Supplement Milk Thistle and Vitamin B complex to support the liver during heavy drinking periods.

Foods to enjoy which support liver function include artichoke, beetroot, liquorice root and dandelion tea.
A glass of hot water with freshly squeezed lemon the following morning will aid recovery!!
